Remote Employment Training for Job Seekers
2 days – 2 groups – Oct 24 & 25, 2011 or Oct 24 & 26, 2011
- Job Seekers will learn about work at home options, how to prepare and get real paying jobs in this growing field. This event is FREE but registrants must be referred by participating agencies. Participating agencies are: Ontario Works, Goodwill Career Centre and Adult Language and Learning. Remote employment, sometimes called tele-working is an industry expected to grow at least 50% between 2009-2012. Participants will learn about the types of work available (customer service, virtual assistants, writers, editors and more), how to find jobs in the field and how to get started. Best of all, these jobs allow people to work from anywhere, with flexible hours, and save time and money by working from home. Jobs are accessible to those who have the skills, but who may have other challenges to employment. Jobs can be part-time or full time and a great option to increase your income.
Career Pathways Event – Oct 17, 2011
Sean Aiken from www.oneweekjob.com will present information on career planning to interested participants at room 136 St Clair College, Thames Campus, College Pathways event. FREE.
Careers on Tour – 1 day – Nov 3rd, 2011
- Students and teachers from all Chatham-Kent high-schools will be invited tour workplaces learning about job options in their area of interest to help with career planning. Industry groups will include: Advanced Manufacturing, Agriculture & Green Energy, Arts & Culture and Health & Wellness. Each high-school will be invited to send students and staff for a full day of learning about local career options, skills and education requirements.
