About the Chatham Kent Workforce Development Council

The Chatham Kent Workforce Development Council (CKWDC) began in 2005 with community educators and employment service providers coming together to form a working partnership.  CKWDC has coordinated local labour market research and events that help youth, displaced workers and employers adapt to the needs of the changing labour market.

The Chatham Kent Workforce Development Council contributes to the retention, recruitment and growth of our workforce to support a strong regional economy by delivering quality workforce development projects. The Council provides continuous learning options, resources and information that support prosperity, productivity, health and safety of our communities.  Events and projects are designed to be current, relevant and free or low cost. Funding for most of our projects comes from Ontario’s Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities Employment Ontario program
